Lantlôs announce new album, release new song


         After three years, German one-man blackgaze outfit Lantlôs has returned! The project's fourth album, Melting Sun, is slated to follow the flurry of activity Herbst put out between 2008 and 2011 with Neige of Alcest fame. The band also released a new song, 'Azure Chimes', which, if it's any indication of what's to come, will put Alcest's new record Shelter out of the blackgaze game after the latter abandoned the genre in favor of pure shoegaze. 
        'Azure Chimes' has it all - stifling atmosphere, ethereal-yet-heavy instrumentals, and haunting vocal melodies. Herbst has also gone on record saying that the new album will, unfortunately, be scream-free, but emphasized that he has no intentions of taking Lantlôs through the same evolution as Alcest. Herbst also said that Neige will not be involved in the writing process of Melting Sun, which should make for an interesting record, indeed.
        Melting Sun will be released May 2nd through Century Media. Listen to 'Azure Chimes' below:
